The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is looking to place Terry Olson, 61, a violent child sex offender and pedophile from Washington County at 1898 Terry Rd in the Town of Erin. The State of Wisconsin is conducting an investigation to determine if the property meets statutory requirements, primarily showing that no minors live within 1500′ of the home. There are minor children within 1650′ and Erin School is 2614′ away.

The state would rent the property and place him there. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department is recommending against the placement, however that does not mean the State will follow the recommendation.

He was convicted of first degree and second degree sexual assault of a child in 1991. Officials have stated he may have assaulted up to 30 children.

The Sheriff’s Office completed the report and forwarded to the Dept. of Health Services on 12/19/2016. Sheriff Dale Schmidt’s letter to the State against placement.

Fond du L Judge halts placement in FDL County.

Read this Court of Appeals decision which goes into details about him and likelihood to re-offend.

Here is his CCAP record relating to the sexual assaults.

State law (WI act 156) mandates that the state attempt to place the sex offenders back in the county of their residence.
